School starts!
Woohoo~ I've finally survived a week of schooL! I ended my class 3 hrs earlier than expected and I managed to call home to haojie and weixuan! Nice catching up! Haven't had the time when school started cos of the sucky time difference! My eldest sis is gg to ROM this coming Monday, hope I'll have a chance to call her before her 2nd BIGGEST day! (Of course the Biggest day is her Wedding day :)
My timetable is not bad: monday free~ tues and wed half-day but thurs and fri full days! from 8-5pm, with only an hr in between. I'm taking 5 modules: 3 chem engin, 1 HR module and 1 UEM. I really dread Thursdays & Fridays, so will terribly look forward to weekends! The class size is really small, cos I'm taking mostly "master classes". The lessons are about 3-4 hours long and can be really boring if the lecturer keeps speaking all the way. But there are group discussions and lotsa break in between to alleviate the long lesson time! For some classes, there are even table soccer, pool table and coffee machines near so that we can have a game or two during breaks!
Except for Material Science, the rest of the classes are less than 20 pple. So I dared to take a photo during Material Science class.
There are 2 bars on CAMPUS! There's international night every tuesday nights at Cellar Bar and one more at Campus Sacs. Haven't visited the other one though, but I've been to the Cellar Bar since orientation and I think it's a great way to connect with my friends cos they all LOVE to drink! haha BEER is the drink before dinner, during dinner after dinner and definitely at pubs. Even I drink during dinner cos everybody does so. haha the rest of the Singaporeans kept saying that we'll get a beer belly when we get back.. Nooooooo!!!
But since it's a technical university, I'm taking all either science or engin modules! But the modules so far are not bad all got project components, so I get to meet and work with new friends! Finally made Danish friends, can you imagine? So far I've been here for 2 wks already and I only know a few Danes. The people I come into contact are very diverse and its great! Italians and Spanish are the friendliest so far and I'm so glad to have good friends like Marina, Edita and Albert. Marina invited a few of us at her Danish home for dinner on Wed nite and the food was great, the house was great and of course the beer!

Bulgarian food (and all those Beer).. YUMMY!
(I was the one who brought the beer for the rest) The rest of the pple, a Greek (oh man so damn exotic, can u imagine? haha), an Italian, 2 Spanish and a Lithuanian and of course Bulgarian (Marina herself) were interested about Singapore and Chinese as a culture. So this was the first time I shared at length with my frens about Chinese culture and Singapore. They were all surprised that there were infinite number of different Chinese Characters and were amazed when I tried writing their names in Chinese. I showed them where Singapore was on the World Map at the house. Edita was even surprised that there are no 4 seasons in Singapore. To them, I guess tropical weather is not considered 'normal' to them Europeans. Guess when I perfect my cooking, I will throw a meal and invite my European friends for a meal! But I guess I gotta wait long, cos I'm still an assistant to Yip so far.. haha. Maybe shall call home one day to ask Mum to tell me receipes! :) I'm going over to Edita's container to help her with cooking later.
