One year ago...
One year ago... exactly 1 yr ago... I was in Changi Airport, waiting to take my first long distance flight to Copenhagen Denmark at this time 11pm. Seems like everything is still so fresh and vivid in my mind.
Feelings of anxiety, excitement, eagerness, last minute confusions were all racing through my heart. Tears, photos, quarrels with my forever caring mom, hugs, handshakes, well-wishes... Really hope I can relive everything again!
A 1 semester exchange to Denmark-- A trip that I had envisioned in my mind even before I entered NUS. A trip that was once fraught with many difficulties.
But I had been there and done that. And I still want to do it again.
Even after a year, my eyes still glisten with delight whenever I recall my adventures and experience to my friends, or help prepare my juniors who are going for exchange. It is really one of the best experiences u can get while in NUS.
Maybe some pple will think why I am always dwelling in my exchange times, even after a year had passed. Well, I guess its the best thing that happened to me during these 4 years in university.
I guess especially our generation is a very mobile lot. More and more people going overseas to do all sorts of things, even during their jobs. Well it is really true that the grass is always greener on the other side.
Once we've tasted a little of the sweeter greener grass overseas, we are always lusting for more; once we have seen a bit of the bigger world, we want to see all of it.
Since I can't turn back the clock, I really yearn for a job that can take me to all corners of the world. Be it business trips/an income that can satisfy my lust to see the world. My goal in life: I will try to save $$ (read: try) and travel the world and visit my friends again.

The Perfect Lover
I have watched those soapy dramas since young. And I would often imagine and fantasise about love before I could have the chance to experience it.
From all the storylines and characters that I've seen:
My conclusion was:
The Perfect Lover is
A romantic and sweet man.
One who is willing to wait for u out in the rain downstairs, willing to die for you, willing to wait for you FOREVER.
Of course, until recently I still feel this way.
But recently, I feel that there's always an ideal situation, an ideal timing, an ideal lover for the above to be possible.
If any of the above elements are not ideal, the Perfect Lover as described can be classified as an irritating pest, a pain in the ass, a sore eye or just a fanatic who harrasses/pesters u non-stop.
See the big difference?
Maybe the Perfect Lover only exists in my soapy dramas.
And no, I will still continue watching them.

When will he stop?
Two people are separated by a barrier.
They can't physically touch or feel each other.
But they can see each other (if their eyes permit);
and hear each other (if their ears permit).
But alas.
One is a deaf and mute; the other is blind, but with good lungs capacity.
The blind guy keeps shouting to the other guy.
Shouting nonsense, ramblings, anything that get to his mind.
He just wants to connect to the other guy, desperately.
But sadly and well, unfortunately the other guy can't hear wad this guy is screaming.
He attempted to signal to the blind man that he can't hear nor talk.
But well the blind man can't see!
So he ignored the blind man after a while.
and continued to savour his eternal peace and silence.
When will the blind man stop yelling, stop trying to get the attention of the man at the other side?
All he has is patience (and a gd pair of lungs).
He probably would not know that the other party is oblivious to him from the start.
He probably would not know that he is wasting his effort all along.
But he would probably know of a dry and sore throat as a result from prolonged shouting..
Only then, will the blind man stop yelling over to the other side of the river.

Happy 2008!
Happy New Year to all.. and have a great year ahead!
Didn't manage to celebrate NYE last night. Rather, spent the entire night rushing through my report. I have still not completed and I guess there's 20% more. Hope to wrap up the report tonight before I sleep.
Not going to have a mad rush tmr morning. It is sickening to be so stressed out.
Feeling sick of everything now..
But just now managed to sneak back home (cos of my grandma's 80th Birthday splash) and read all the belated Xmas cards from my friends!
It always feels great to be loved.
Thanks all! :)
